Mary and I went Fishing on the Sea Biscuit for an Overnight adventure friday night.....Fished Santa Rosa where a few boats were still catching Seabass and Halibut....We jigged our own squid and tried for about an hour for nada in the morning at Eagles Nest...The captain decided to make a move around to the front side of the island where after a short while we had the first hook-up! People started to go bendo all around me and then I felt the tap-tap of a bite.....FISH ON!!! But when I got it to color I realized it wasn't the right kind....Oh well, was a beautiful Leopard Shark and at least it got my blood pumping for a minute...The boat only landed 5 Seabass and one Halibut before the bite died...So off we went rock fishing where Mary landed a Ling...BIG and BLUE!!!! We ended the day with limits of quality rockfish and although the day was not as Epic as we had hoped, Good times were had by all!!!!!

Holy Halibut!!!!!!

Hello Ladies, sorry I had to miss the meeting last night...but I have a great excuse...
Went fishing on an open party trip aboard the Beautiful Mirage... We went in search of White Seabass to Santa Rosa Island...the weather looked great and I was on my favorite boat doing my favorite thing...... The Seabass were not huge....but I did catch 5 of them...2 were short and tossed back with a kiss of course, but I still ended up with a limit and this big barndoor bonus!!!!!!! Boat ended up with 39 Seabass and 2 Halibut!!!

Hooked the Halibut on 20# test with a dropper-loop set-up...Mary's boyfriend Mike was on the boat and he caught the other Butt....Out weighing mine by only ounces on the digital scale....41 and 42 pounds...Even though Mike took Jack-pot I still ended up out-fishing him GOLD COAST STYLE!!!!!!!!

So here we are Ladies.....Just another awesome trip in the books for Me, Tanner, and Mary...We headed down to San Diego to hop on the 85' Holiday where we had heard the Albacore were on the chew.....The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the scenery was just as beautiful....(I think I met the man of my dreams!!!!) I caught 4 Albacore and a really hot guy...Hi JR!!!! HOT!!!
Mary and Tanner got their first Albacore ever!!!! Tried to make them eat the hearts, which is tradition..., but they were not going for it.... Anyway, Tanner went 1 for 3, lost one on the prop and had one short biter....Mary went 2 for 3, lost hers when it spit the hook...and I went 4 for 6, losing my very first 2 hookups on 15# test...First one spit the hook and the second sawed me off clean...Capt. said it was a Bluefin Tuna, but we never saw it....We switched over to the 25# set-ups and rocked 'em Gold Coast style!!!!!
Guess what we'll be serving at the Meeting we host......

Erna-B Mental Health Day

Two GCLA's were kicking bass yesterday - Calico Bass that is !! Check out Barbara's gorgeous calico bass. I landed 4 sheephead right in a row - not quite at "Gita" speed, but not too far behind. As the only two ladies on board, we showed the guys what the GOLD COAST LADY ANGLERS are all about. Sunny weather and smooth seas made for a great day to play hooky and go fishing. We had a blast !!

Seabass KILLERS!!!!!!

Well Tanner and Mary made it back to the dock, stained with the blood of their kill....What a fantastic job guys!!!! And it was all on fin bait...No live squid on the boat....None necessary with skills like theirs....

Tanner and Mary are slammin' Seabass!!!

FYI...Just got a call from Capt. John Fuqua where my beautiful son Tanner and my Best Friend Mary are fishing(Couldn't make this trip-waaahhh!)...So far Tanner hooked three and lost one, so he is two for three, and Mary has two also....WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!! There are 14 on the boat and the range is 18 to 35 pounders...Looks like it's Seabass for dinner again tonight!!!!Way to go guys!!!Pics to come....
