SeaJay Charter

Well, one more charter under our belts for 2009. The weather was overcast and the waters were flat, but we always have fun no matter what. Once again, Elena had the hot stick yesterday. It was one big calico after another and a beautiful sheephead. She was just awesome. Two white seabass were hooked and one was brought on board. The second one, which I hooked, was being eaten by a seal as I tried to reel it in. Capt John was throwing irons to try to distract it, but it wouldn't let it go. All of us watched in "horror" as my beautiful WSB was locked in the jaws of this awful seal. I've never seen anything like it - it was like watching "Shark Week" all over again. I was traumatized by this event and it will put me in "fish therapy" for sure, but I did come home with some nice calico's, a red, and some nice whitefish. Since there were half men and half women on this trip we decided to open the jackpot to the men and one of the guys won it with his WSB. I probably could have won it if that nasty seal hadn't messed with my "ju-ju". Oh well, life will go on and I will get that WSB back on the next trip. A lot of fun was had by all and the guys thanked us for teaching them how to fish.
