Cook book committee -

Hello ladies-

On Jan 25, five fearless cookaholic foodies (left to right: Marion, Dorothy, Miryam, Chris, Barbara) met to work on Vol. ll of the sell out GCLA Hook'em & Cook'em Book. We feasted on test recipes: ringed Bonita burgers, guacamole from heaven, and blueberry lemon cake. All were a great success. The new recipe collection will be even more diverse and creative and yummylicious! BUT ... we need your additional recipes! We know who you fabulous cooks are, so get busy inputting your fish and other notable recipes, or email them Ruta.

Fishing In January

Well ladies it started out a little cool and windy but died down and the ocean was smooth.

We saw whales & dolphins. At this point the only legal fish are pelagic and perch, halibut and like that.

I caught 3 little fish and had to send them all back.

Things at Capt Hooks are slow so Jeff jumped on and worked as crew today.
I got a lesson in tying two lines together. First he showed me how to do it and tied some fluorocarbon to my spectra. Just when I thought I was in business he cut it off and made me do it - and to my surprise and relief it was a good knot. Must be a good teacher.

This is an Opal Eye Perch and this is what won the JP.

A nice day of fishing just not a lot of catching.

New email

Hi Ladies!

My website is going through a makeover - it will problably be another week to 10 days before it is fininshed. My Tech guy just let me know that my email has been off for a while so I thought I better give you the new one now. Kicking Off 2009 - Great 1st Meeting!

Thanks to Julie H one of our newer members for hosting the first meeting of 2009.

What a spirited group!

We had to be shushed many times in order for Jeanne to get through all the business. Our March - Mirage Charter only has 8 spaces available and the April - Apollo Charter has 10 open spots and a wait list of 2 husbands.

For all of those who couldn't make it we missed you and look forward to seeing you on our upcoming fishing adventures.
